Benno Maier passed away on April 19.
He was tall and handsome, charming and funny, and could carry on a conversation with anyone for HOURS.
He came to this country from Germany when he was barely 20. A master carpenter, he worked for the union for years. He made beautiful things out of wood and steel.
A real renaissance man; good at anything he set out to learn. He played guitar and flute, taught himself French, could draw and paint, and fix just about anything.
He was a biker and loved to ride his Harley.
We will miss his thick German accent, those sea blue eyes, and his silly dad jokes!
Benno is survived by his daughters Claudette and Jeanette, his son-in-law Dave, his former wife Henrietta and his grandchildren, Michael, Sydney, and Beck.
