From the most informal, information-gathering sessions, to the more precise pre-arrangement of services, our staff and directors are always available to assist with these matters. Answers to questions are always available whether or not a "purchase" is made or contemplated.

Likewise, many families have found that the pre-funding of funeral arrangements gives them peace of mind - to know that costs have been discussed and funds put aside before the need arises. Accordingly, Schwille Funeral Home has always made available pre-funding utilizing the Pre Plan Trust administered by the New York State Funeral Director's Association that guarantee funds will be available when needed. This trust may be made irrevocable for those persons who need to remove assets from their accounts to qualify for Medicaid benefits.

While we have always believed that planning and pre-funding are consumer driven interests, and therefore part of the services we provide, we have never believed in the aggressive pre-selling of funeral services and merchandise that has characterized the marketplace for the past two decades. Driven mostly by cash-hungry conglomerates and commissioned sales people, the junk-mail, door-to-door and telemarketed sales transaction serves mostly the interests of vendors rather than consumers.

Although Schwille Funeral Home is a full service funeral directing firm, and although we have always provided pre-arrangement and pre-funding programs, and while we've always been here when the consumer calls, we will not be calling you, nor soliciting you by mail or door to door sales. The decisions about when to make arrangements, like what arrangements to make, belong to the family. We are here to serve not to sell.
